Event date: Sunday 28th October to Friday 2nd November 2018.
NALG SA DIVISION invites all members of NALG Australia Divisions to the iconic Barossa Valley for the 53rd National Championships. The event will be played on the Tanunda Pines Golf Course and the Barossa Valley Golf Course.
Tanunda Pines Golf Course, a spectacular 18 hole country golf course and clubhouse, is located in the heart of the Barossa Valley, which is a hour drive north-east of Adelaide. The Barossa Valley is renowned for its wines, fresh produce and rich culture of Australian History. 300 metres stroll from the club house is the 140 room Novotel Barossa Valley Resort.
The golf course was redesigned by Murray Crafter in the 1970’s and has the following characteristics; fast greens, deep bunkers, narrow fairways, thick rough, aged blue and red gums, native pines and a vast array of Australian wildlife. With abundant of water supplies the Santa Anna couch fairways and bent grass greens are always in pristine order and condition.
The Club has a generous practice putting green and a driving range.
At the Barossa Valley Golf Club, Nuriootpa you can enjoy a relaxing game of golf in a true bush setting complimented by the wild life. Kangaroos wander the course as you play and bird fanciers will be delighted by the rare bird life found on a golf course that also acts as a sanctuary for flora and fauna.
The Club has a generous practice putting green, practice chipping and bunker play green as well as a driving range.
Although the course is undulating and offers good variety in playing each hole, the walk is made more enjoyable by the absence of any strenuous hill climbing. The fairways seem generous but the rough can be punishing and some well-placed bunkers guard the fairways and greens.
Non golf playing partners.
Even if you are not playing golf on your visit to the Barossa come and see us and enjoy the myriad of experiences to be had in this iconic wine growing area of South Australia. However, it should be noted that there is more to the Barossa Valley than just wine. Just come and enjoy.
